Polly is a gentle and affectionate eight‑year‑old golden Labrador who has become a much‑loved member of the Unified community. Alongside her handler, Kim, she visits the school 4 days a week to work with the boys either one‑to‑one or in small, supportive groups. Polly’s calm nature and friendly personality make her the perfect companion for our students. She especially enjoys snuggling up with the boys on a beanbag, soaking up belly rubs, and of course, accepting all the treats she’s offered throughout the day.

Polly and Kim have a dedicated intervention room at Unified—a quiet, nurturing space where they help the boys with their learning, emotional regulation, confidence building, and overall wellbeing. Whether she’s offering a comforting cuddle, encouraging communication, or simply bringing joy to the room, Polly plays a valuable role in helping our students feel safe, settled, and ready to learn.

Pixie is a straight deer‑headed chihuahua, she is the smallest member of the therapy dog team and completely full of personality. Pixie absolutely loves coming to school. She gets so excited to wander into the classrooms and check out what the students are busy doing. Every new activity is an adventure to her and she soaks up all the sights, sounds and attention. One of Pixie’s favourite things is cuddles – she can never get enough of them. She happily snuggles into anyone’s arms, especially when the students give her all the affection she could ever want.
