Year 7 Funding

The Year 7 literacy and numeracy catch-up premium gives state-funded schools, including special schools and alternative provision settings, additional funding to support year 7 pupils who did not achieve the expected standard in reading or maths at the end of key stage 2 (KS2).

In order to raise achievement Unified Academy offers:

• Bi-annual testing of all pupils for reading, comprehension and spelling capabilities.
• Weekly 1:1 catch up literacy for any pupils that do not attain the age of eight years and one month in their reading tests
• Twice weekly 1:1 catch up literacy for any pupils with very low attainment in order to reinforce and improve their phonic knowledge
