Football League!

The Surrey Special Schools Sports Association (SSSSA) Football Leagues run once every half term with schools from all over Surrey attending. The number of schools participating has grown year upon year and Chart Wood School were one of the first schools to sign up.

Each half term at The Goals Wimbledon Football Centre there is a Key Stage 4 league on the Wednesday and a KS3 league on the Thursday. Chart Wood school take two squads of seven players to each league and we enter our teams into either the Premiership, Championship or League Competitions. The games are fast and furious, played out over seven minutes.

The boys thoroughly enjoy the opportunity to head offsite and play against a wide range of schools across the county. They have the opportunity to show off their skill sets but also more importantly they get to display teamwork and leadership qualities, resilience and sporting etiquette as well as improving their fitness levels!

Come rain or shine the boys are committed to attending the leagues and putting in their best possible performances. The games are played in a league format and the overall league positions are announced at the end of the academic year. We are delighted to report that last year saw our KS3 and KS4 B Teams both win their respective leagues! So here’s to another enjoyable and successful year of SSSSA Football!
