Remote Home Learning

Unified Academy recognises that continuing learning at home will ensure that students make progress, provide important structure during the day, and help to maintain those student-staff relationships that are crucial to mental well-being and a high quality of education. We also recognise that isolation and disruption can be distressing for students and their families, and that the expectations of formal learning can put an additional strain on some families. Our approach to remote learning ensures that we provide a continuous and challenging curriculum which is accessible to students, but which also offers support, care and understanding for the families who need it most. Our aim is to achieve a carefully balanced package that is individually adapted to the needs of each student.

The remote learning programme will be a continuation of our normal and structured curriculum for the subjects of English, mathematics and PSHE with the addition of topics and options. It will be possible to access the curriculum electronically through the learning platform Google Classroom, as well through paper-based resources and materials. We believe that remote education needs to suit each student, together with his family, and we aim to make all processes as easy to access as possible.
