At Unified Academy students will learn about key elements that can contribute to their mental and physical well-being. Fostering a safe and secure environment, to have honest and open discussions, around their own and others well-being.
Students are empowered to recognise areas of concern, with the support of the adults around them. They will consider different types of mental ill-health, including anxiety, which may be identified using zones of regulation. Developing upon the skills to talk about their emotions, feelings and how different moods and behaviour may have an impact upon their well-being and that of others, creating a positive growth mind-set. A focus on positive relationships, sensible eating and sleeping well are also integral parts of their well-being and are taught accordingly. Students will investigate the links between physical and mental health and understand how 60 minutes of exercise each day can enhance their sense of well-being.
