At Unified Academy Geography inspires our students to have a curiosity and fascination about the world and its people that will remain with them for the rest of their lives. Teaching will include:
Locational knowledge – about diverse places, people, resources
Human and Physical environments – knowledge of the Earth’s key physical and human processes.
Place Knowledge – develop understanding of the formation and use of landscapes and environments.
Geographical Skills and Fieldwork – understanding the frameworks and approaches that explain how the Earth’s features at different scales are shaped, interconnected and change over time.
Students will compare geographical locations; investigating trade, environmental impact, climate, natural hazards, population, culture, erosion and how the UK fits in the 21st century world. Students will be more confident discussing their community, heritage and culture as they progress into adulthood.
Students will complete end-of-topic assessments, present completed work and receive accreditation to recognise their learning by completing AQA Unit Awards.
