Design and technology at Unified Academy is a practical subject that inspires students’ imagination and creativity and helps to prepare them for life beyond school. Students design and make products that solve real problems within a variety of contexts. They develop the ability to transfer their learning to real-life situations. They acquire a broad range of subject knowledge and draw on disciplines such as mathematics, science, computing and art. Students learn to be adventurous in their work. They become resourceful, innovative and confident when working with a range of resistant materials. They learn how to evaluate projects and to learn from their experience.
Students will complete a range of practical and theory tasks that will be externally assessed and accredited.
