Cooking for Life

We want our students to become well-rounded, healthy, confident adults and part of that journey is learning to cook.

It is so important to us that the boys learn how to cook nutritious balanced meals – which leads to healthy attitudes towards diet and eating habits. Today, our Y10 Food and Nutrition GCSE class made Jamaican beef and vegetable patties from scratch, which meant preparing the veggies, cooking and spicing the meat and making their own pastry.

Teachers insist on high standards in terms of; health and safety, personal hygiene, food hygiene practices and following clear instructions – standards that you would expect in a working kitchen.
